
Tunisian poet and writer Ines Abassi was born in 1982. She currently resides in the UAE, working as a journalist and publishing her poetry, writing and translations in the local and international press. In 2004, she published the collection Secrets of the Wind, which won the Tunisian Poetry Prize that year. Her book Archive of the Blind was published in 2007; the same year she was awarded the CREDIF prize, issued by the Tunisian Ministry Women’s Centre of Research and Studies, Documentation and Information.
She is active in the literary world, and has taken part in the Arab Youth Literature Festival in Oman (2006), the Youth Literature Festival in Jordan (2007), and the Asian-African Festival in South Korea (2007). Most recently she took part in the Seoul International Writing Festival, after spending 6 months in South Korea with the Korea Literature Translation Institute, a cultural exchange with the aim of bringing Korean Literature to the Arab world through the French language. This inspired her latest book, Tales of Korean Shahrazad (2010).
